What do you want to do with the car? Setting goals is the best way to actually achieve something with your car rather than just spending your money in small doses. When i first got my GSR, i wanted to upgrade it. Instead i saved up and built a turbo setup. Keep that kind of thing in mind...
if you are like most people, the more you put into a car, the more you will want. so set a goal, a reasonable one though. 900 bucks is a decent amount of money to start a build with. which way you want to go, is up to you. suspension, engine, ect...
i'd do a little bit with the suspension. like some decent shocks and springs, maybe some bushings ect... a good handling car is funner than fast car that handles like ****. know what i mean. lol.

And for most cars, getting better, stickier tires will give you a much bigger performance boost for the money than any other upgrade.
