MY SON HAS A 98 integra LS and he just bought a GSR. i know that the GSR B18C1 is different and the trans buit as these cars are parked next to one another how could I tell 1 was a GSR-
HereS WHY i ASK.. To me it looks like the GSR Motor was dropped into an LS Chassis and poorly done at that Most noticable to me was a missing bolt in the rear motor&Trans mount, over spray on the valve cover etc etc.
So is there a visible difference from standing on the outside of the car

 

on the rear the gsr should have a DOHC VTEC badge in silver on the look at the dash VIN that's the best give away DC2=GSR/ITR only DC4=ls/rs/gs.

the interior of the gsr will most likely be black leather vs cloth or icky tan interior of the ls

 

The back seats are leather I will check the vin in the morning

it is hard to tell now and day with all the stuff people actually do to these car, but yeah the vin number should tell, i wouldn't trust the dash vin # if it doesn't match the vin # in the engine bay firewall and the door jam.

 

look at the registration car or what every you guys call it ownership slip vin# that'll be the truest of them all.

GSR VIN numbers start with JH4DC2...... for the 2drs.

LS VIN numbers start with JH4DC4 for the 2drs.

Check the VIN on the firewall and around the car.
