Ok, a friend of mine has a 91 teg with the stock b18a in it. We put a new dizzy on, but ended up putting a 1.6 rotor on it, because the screw to get the old rotor off of the old dizzy was stripped. Well, nevertheless, we tried to start it up, but all it did wsa crank. My friend kept cranking non-stop for about 20-30 seconds (even though I told him to stop). Well, the next day he goes out and buys a new rotor for the dizzy, pops it on, and starts it. Well, there was a big cloud of smoke that came out from the exhaust when he started it, with a very strong gas smell. And on top of that, the head is making a loud knocking noise, very quickly. Does anyone know what this noise could be coming from? Thanks.

 

the smoke and smell is obvious, as for the knocking sound.... did it go away after he drove it? Or did he drive it at all?
