Default Weird Voltage while driving

Ok, so I know normally while driving the voltage should read about 14v.

Well sometimes when I'm going down the road my voltage gauge will go from 14v to 12v and vice versa. Keep in mind that I haven't let off the gas at all while it's doing this.

Some day it'll do this, other days it won't. I can't seem to figure out why the voltage would jump like that. My battery and alternator seem fine, any ideas?

contacts on the alternator seem to get loose sometimes......i've encountered this problem number of times. Took me a WHILE to figure out what was going on the first time.
