Default Weird Lock Problem On DC2

I have a 97 Integra and I've been having this problem for probally 2-3 months now. What happens is when I hit the lock button the lock doesn't swing foward all the way, but it still locks the car. Also, if I push it the rest of the way and then try to unlock the doors, they will unlock and then lock really quick because the drivers side lock won't open all the way. I think I seen something on HT about this problem. I searched but couldn't find anything. Anyone have any ideas because this really annoys me.

Sounds like the normal locking procedure..

How is that normal? Maybe I didn't explain it right. What happens when I push the lock button, the door lock won't close all the way showing that it's locked. I will still see the red tab. It will only close like half way, but the door will be locked. Now if I manually push the lock closed and then try to unlock it with the button it will unlock and lock really fast without the drivers side door lock moving (trying to make sense, but it's kind of hard to explain). I have to keep hitting unlock and couple of times just to get out of my damn car because it does that. Hope that makes more sense.

Is it aftermarket power locks? If so, pop the door panel off and do some adjusting. Stock ones are a lil' different b'cuz the actuator is on the latching mechanism rather than the arms.

i used to have the same problem. in my case there wasn't any mechanical problem. i found that the small door look frame-thingy, on the door panel, wasn't clipped in properly; as a result, the auto door looks would hit the frame and not look the whole way, causing the 'machine gun thingy'. i eventually squared everything off and now its all straight.

jdmhawaii is right. I had this problem with my teg also. I took my door panels off to do some stereo stuff and after a few days, mine did the exact samething as everybody else. What happened to me is just like jdmhawaii mentioned. Try taking the panel off and re-alligning them. Mine started with the locking you in problem, and that was b/c the driver's panel wasn't properly lined up. Then the machine gun happened to the passengers side days later and turned out to be the same thing. (they may look aligned, b/c mine did) but try it. Hope you guys get those probs solved!

is it doing this when you are getting out? when you open the door to get out, you have to pull the handle like you're opening the door WHILE you press the lock button.

Guys, it is supposed to do that. You just have to hold the handle open when you flip the lock. My remote doesn't work, so I always have to lock the doors manually, and I'm so used to it now it is second nature. You can do it with one hand very easily as you get out.
