weird howling sound while going in reverse

weird howling sound while going in reverse

Ok I have a 4 door 96 integra gsr and everytime my car goes backwards it makes this nasty howling sound.. Its not the tranny because it still makes the sound if I'm rolling down a hill, out of gear

Any suggestions on what it could be?

its your reverse gear, it is a straight cut gear not helical cut like 1-5,
