weak vtec

Since a B16/ITR head has a larger combustion chamber volume, CR is lower than a stock GSR which is 10:1
Also my mistake earlier, it's not 9.7:1 it's more like 9.8:1, but still, that is too low for agressive cams like CTR/ITR's.
ok so i just picked up a obd 1 gsr top end for 380, complete minus the throttle body... i love craigslist. anyhooooo maybe ill clean up the ports a bit on that and slap my ctr cams in it and do it that way. hopefully it'll run harder.
Thanks to all who put in there helpful insight.

yes you can chip the P72 as long as its obd1, and it will serve you better if you ever plan on running lower than premium gasoline since the p72 has the knock sensor circuitry and the p28 does not
ive been adjusting the timing trying to see what happens, so its not set right yet. if i run a p28 out here in cali i wonder if i will be able to pass smog?? thats my big concern. yea my car is all obd1
on a side note i beat up on a s2000 last night twice. made me pretty happy since i have a 250 lb stereo in the car... and my 265lb friend was with me.

**** i remember on my gsr my vtec wasnt "cracking" lol it seemed like my car lost power when i hit vtec but that was cuz i was 2qts low on oil lmao.... and thats why i sold that car lol
Dude, either that S2000 driver was on crack or he was just trying to wave you down to tell you your vtec wasn't cracking right.
if he is beating s2000's, then his car is running perfec!lol. I barely beat a s2000 the other day and i have a da with a h22 and bolt-ons chipped ecu and advanced timing.
