I thought I would post this in ehre since more of you will be familiar with the application.:::
Ok heres a picture of the stock water pump from a jdm b18c.
And heres the Bosch water pump I got from pep boys.
Notice the 2 alignment "pegs" arent on the new one. All of the other dimensions are identical as far as hole locations and whatnot. slight variations but nothing that would cause fitment problems. Those alignment pin things concern me though. Did I perhaps get the wrong one or is it not a big deal?

I would be leary of running that without the pegs. Double check to make sure they gave you the right part, if so then I would look into getting some fittings to put in place of where they are missing as compaired to the stock unit. That's just my .02

yeah couldnt hurt to double check with them. Any one here replaced theirs before and had or didnt have the pegs on the replacement?
i think only the jdm waterpumps had the dowel pins, and they dont come out. every waterpump i have seen did not have those unless it was off a jdm engine.
i wound not worry about them, not needed

my oem gsr waterpump didnt have dowell pins. count the teeth on the gear to make sure u got the right one. the dipshits at pep boys sold me an ls/b20 waterpump then wouldnt take it back cause i threw out the receipt.
ls/b20=19 teeth
b18c=22 or 23 teeth(i cant remember exactly, but its one or the other)

It's 22 teeth. It's marked right on the water pump gear "22T".
My original water pump had the dowel pins.
But, my OEM replacement water pump didn't have the dowel pins pressed in or included. I tried to order them separately, but the ones I got didn't fit....so I put it on without the dowel pins. Same thing with my friend's motor.

hrmm well the gear actually now that i look at them is noticably smaller and has 2 fewer teeth. is this a big deal?
. there wont be enough tension on the timing belt w/ the smaller gear. ive been there
. take it back and get the right one. 22 teeth like INVTEC said.
What causes a water pump to go bad?
It's a bearing. It's a moving part. Moving parts go back after a while.
When you get your new one, why not just move the dowel pins from the OE water pump to your replacement? That's what we did on my LS. My water pump came from a Acura parts department with no dowels.
