Default Vtech controllers?

Has anyone tried any of those vtech controllers, and are they worth the money. I know apexi makes one for $359. You can set the vtech to kick in a little earlier, around 5700 I think. If anyone has tried these please let me know how well they work.

normally, i hate it when people reply with 'do a search'

but in this case, where you cant even spell VTEC correctly, i am going to suggest it.

DO A FREAKIN SEARCH

im sure this topic has come up a LOT , its a very common question..

search for APEXI V-AFC, field vtec controller, vtec controller

hopefully by now you'll have learnt to spell it too!

Thankyou,

goodnight.

The V-AFC is a good package. You can set the VTEC pretty much at any RPM you want. Instead just having one point to turn on and off you can set it at two different points where one is the on RPM and the off RPM.

Oh yeah, check out the groupbuy center, you should be able to find the VAFC for a better price than 359.

I'd never buy a car from someone that ignorant. Just seeing that spelling makes me want to bitch slap them! Okay, I'm done venting. And yes, I've got a VTECH phone or two....they suck

Well other comments have been covered...

I doubt you need a VTEC controller. Generally, you may benefit from one if you have FI or big cams. With FI, you may want to lower the XOVER to make more power, since you have plenty of flow... With big cams you will probably want to RAISE the XOVER to avoid a dip in power from trying to switch too early.

For reference: GSR or B18C1 stock XOVER is at 4400 RPM. ITR or B18C5 is approx 5700 rpm.

With ITR/CTR cams usually want XOVER around 5000 RPM in a GSR. With Todas or the like, it will probably be even higher, like 6500 rpm or so?

And don't forget that the primary use of the V-AFC is fuel tuning, not moving VTEC engagement around. And tune it ON A DYNO. Don't lower your VTEC point because it's the cool thing to do. Throw your car on a dyno and see what settings it likes best.

yeah I know it is vtech, it was two in the morning and I wasn't looking back at the spelling. You wanna get all selfrighteous and call me ignorant, what ever makes me feel better bud. I am far from ricer, I know a lot of **** about my car, so don't even start that ****. Thank you for the real replies. And the reason I asked was because I wanna be faster, but my car is 2000 gs-r and warrantied and loosing that is not an option right now since I am in college. And I didn't mention the fuel curve because I have the venom pc 400 control module which already took care of the fuel curve. Just wondered if the vtec controller might help a little more.

It cool, VTEC, there, got it right. I really am not ignorant although I am not making a good case for myself. I just woke up and am running back anf forth between the shower and the computor and all and I am needing to get to school and was hurrying. I usually just tell people I don't care how it is spelled as long as you know what I mean. But obviously some car people take that highly offensive. But I do love my car, when I have no magazine, or someone to talk to, I just pop the hood and stare at my damn engine and imagine, AHHHH...... SOMEDAY. And it says VTEC pretty big on it so I know. I am just being sloppy. My bad, sorry if I offended anyone.

Anyone else care to mangle the acronyms?

Anyone going into conniptions/convulsions yet? OCD acting up?
