vtech controller?
Do i need to build up my internals to run a vtech controller, right now i have just cai and im getting exhaust tommarow. if so what internals do i need to replace? and how much is that gonna run me?
First off it's VTEC
Why do you need to control your vtec, if you are stock, which you say you are, it is already at the optimum point for you. Raising or lowering the vtec crossover point will not help. You can use a vafc to control vtec(unecessary for you), and your a/f if you want. No you do not need anything special to have a vafc.

he said its vtec noob. vtec at 3,000 will make ur car ******* slow. the stock engagement is perfect for near stock car.

^ There's really no need for a VAFC in a stock car.

This is a bad idea, your car won't run as well and inturn make it slower. Your car is stock, leave it the way it is.

If his username is correct, his VTEC already engages at 4400 RPMs. He is hearing his secondaries opening at 5600-ish.
Getting a vtec controller and making vtec engage earlier is not a good idea, and it won't provide that 'kicking on' sound at 3000 RPM you seem to desire, because the IM butterflies are not controlled through vtec. So, with that said, there is no need for a vtec controller/vafc on a completely stock car.

My suggestion is get a header or some suspension mods...a VAFC won't hurt you by any means. You really don't need it for i/e though. Even if you did, you should take it to a dyno to get the most power out of it...which might be like 1 to maybe 5 wheel horsepower (5 is a HUGE stretch of the imagination).

It would help him a little bit...but not as much as it would if he had cams like you said. VAFC's are great for cammed cars. I don't have cams on my DA, but I have a VAFC2 (waiting to hook up) that I am going to use. Partly because I am running stupid rich and my powerband feels very funny. Probably because my Spoon Venturi plate

omg...this kid won't listen! you do not need a vtec controller and your vtect doesn't engage at 5600 rpm's like you say, that is your secondairies opening up on your Intake manifold, your vtec engages at 4400 give or take a few hundred rpm's

On a related topic. My friend has an '04 Civic EX. He has IHE + VAFCII. That thing is slowwww. I know, it's a SOHC VTEC, but the point is that there is no real power being produced. When VTEC is engaged, the car is just loud, but it's not really going any faster. On top of that, any gear from 3rd+ has even less power when VTEC is engaging. Anyone tried it for a stock to near stock GSR?
