would putting a vtec on a b18b engine be worth all the labor and hard work and $$?

No. Better off turboing your car. You'll be much, much faster and more reliable.

it depends on what you want to do, if just want to say you have ls/vtech it will cost about, six hundred, and yes with in reason it is just about bult on, your ls block can take UP TO THE REV LIMIT.
but that is a waist, for the true v-tech experionce it will run you a couple grand.

Call a shop, they'll give you a more accurate price than any of us.

my vote is just buy an engine with a vtec like from a gsr or if you want better performance go with something with a little more power, k20 anyone? way better than a lsvtec conversion.

well everyone says go turbo. everyone basically has a taste... mine lies in NA. like most, i'll probably go boost later... but til then, enjoy vtec. personally i'm doing a lsvtec... i see nothing wrong with it... some even went boosted lsvtec... which is insane(in a goodway) imo.

what? ls/vtec isnt stock to start with so... personally id just swap a complete motor like said before. an engine from honda is more reliable than an ls cracked open and fitted with a vtec head imo.

basically any motor is reliable... all depends how you treat it... i can have the slowest lsvtec out there, but if i treat it right, it'll last longer than any raped b16 out there..

There are some horrible horrible replies here. Geez.

A reliable LS/VTEC setup will probably cost just as much as a turbo kit, and yield less power. Unless you can get the NA parts cheap, I would go turbo.

this thread is horrible lol

Vtec head : $400-600
Oil Line kit etc : $200
ECU: $100-200
Intake Mani : $100-200
Header : $200
Misc sensors and **** that probably wont come with the head: $200
And i probably forgot many things, but whatever that is the main idea and that totals like $1500 right there...
Go turbo
