vtec when?
what ecu? stock intake mani? that sounds right for a p72 with the stock intake mani, the iab's(secondary butterflies) open at 5600rpm but actual vtec should "kick in" at 4400-4500rpm on a stock gsr with a p72 ecu.
yeah its the stock p72-a03 wow my chipped p28 I had set to kick in at 5500rpm but that was with a b20/vtec setup it had a b16 head on it. but thanks it just seems like its so early but I am running a blox intake si I dont have the 2nd butterflys any more.

WHAT?!?!?! A chipped ECU that has a different vtec setting? Ya right

Normal. The torque curve of a B18C1 falls off right about 4000rpm, so the Honda engineers set VTEC at about 4400-4600rpm. B16s continue to make torque until about 5000rpm, which is why it's VTEC point was set higher in the rpms.
now I am going to go obd1 wich ecu would be better a p28 or a p72? and with the intake and stuff that I have what should I set the vtec at? I am also lookin at a set of itr cams.
