Default Vtec swap question???

I am giong to put a b18c1 in place of my b18b1 and I am hooking the b18c1 to my b1 tranny is there giong to be any problem or disadvatages wtih that will my b18b1 tranny be able to handle the c1 or am I giong to expect problems???
will hooking the c1 up to my b1 tranny reduce the power of the ngine at all???

Well, your tranny is either a YS1 or a J1 or a Y1. I believe you have a J1 if your car is a 90-91....

Anyways, no you will not hurt anything with the B18c1 on that tranny.. As for lowering hp, no not necessarily, your gear ratios are just a tad bit longer then say a Y1 or a YS1 tranny.... But you will be fine with that..

it would be better to mate the c1 tranny or c5 tranny to the b18c1 motor. longer gearing is unnecssary and will detract performance in the long run.
