So i have a 94 Integra gsr and have the prelude type s h22 motor swap in it i am having problems with the v-tech on it in 3rd or 4rth gear it has a full header back with stock cat conv on it when i get to high rpms in 3rd or 4rth gear the vtech stops working and the check engine light comes on and no more v-tech when i turn the key off the check engine light clears and v-tech is good again im setting it up for the track and need this feature to work all the time any answers? Also looking for someone knowledgeable in tuning cars im 10 mins south of new york border and 30 mins south of binghamton in montrose pa thanks h tech peeps

 

First of all its spelled vtec.

How is your oil level?

Clean off your vtec solenoid if necessary.

vtec looks for:
engine temp up to normal
oil pressure good
knock sensor (if you dont have a p28 or other chipped ecu)
Next time this happens go straight to Autozone or somewhere, where you can get the cel readout. Or you can do it yourself by shorting the plug under your dash above your ecu. And watch the cel for the 1st and 2nd set of numbers. Then you can look it up on here and get it figured out.

 

oil level is good i have the same computer readout system auto zone has but its a 94 teg and dont have the obd2 plug in i have a chipped p28 if oil level low vtech wouldnt work at all right? as far as engine temp its always good i have a aluminum rad and slimline cooler fan that runs constant on turn key
