Default vtec issues

hello there i am new to the honda world just bought a 96 civic coupe with a ls swap i want to put on a gsr head but i am not sure if i neeed a ls or gsr head gasket secondly the car has a p28 ecu with a jumper harness can i switch the obd2 harness to obd1

I would advise golden eagle ls/vtec kit comes with everything you will need, no you cannot run obd1 harness, when they scan your registration it will say its an obd2 car and will be looking for those monitors to trip when plugging into your car for inspection

Not entirely true, most people use the chipped ECU's. Also, depending on your state, it will still read it fine, and not all states require emissions/inspections of that nature.

i am not worried about the inspection if it can be done which car an year harness would i need and is it a straight forward plug out plug in situation or is there more to it
