VTEC Issues...
Hey everyone!
I have a bit of a trivia here.
I have a 95 LS, B18C1 swap with ITR CAMS, some Cam gears, and other toys listed below in my signature.
My friend tells me with the mods I have I should have at least 210-220 HP but that my car doesn't feel like it. He says when my VTEC kicks in, it doesn't pull like it's supposed to and I'm not getting the power that I should. I never drove a VTEC Integra before to know what it's supposed to be like. My car used to be an LS.
I think I might be burning some oil. There is no oil on the ground where I park my car and the it only smokes when I hit it hard (I have a test pipe though). I was suspecting my piston rings for a little while. I got this motor at Importsports of Denver and I had them look at it couple of times, they did a leakdown and compression test and they said everything was fine. But it still feels like the engine is not putting all it's power to the ground.
My friend tells me that I probably need tuning and should consider a Hondata s200.
Any ideas of what might be wrong?

I think with your mods you should not be seeing anywhere near the 200-210 whp range. I give 160 around that range but again you need to take your car to a dyno and see your power. And even still each dyno and different weather can affect your power plus a good tuner can get you a few extra ponies. Instead dont look into your numbers but look into what you have gained over your first base run to after tuning, thats what really matters. I have more mods then you with a R swap with bc4 cams, blah, blah, blah, and did 185whp on a dynojet. A week after not touching anything, same dyno, same tuner, and made 190whp.
As far as what system to tune your car, I say if you have a good hondata tuner around your area, go with that. I have a s200 and love how hondata works, well atleast thats what I have experienced with, never tried to others, but heard uberdata, chrome, neptune, etc works the same. Go to your tuner and see what he works with......

I'm talking engine power, not power to the wheels. I haven't had that dynoed yet. I imagine wheel around 170... or so. Not bad, considering this is Mile High. (A stock '91 NSX put about 210 to the wheels up here)
My car feels quick but yeah... I need tuning, you can feel something's "choking" it through the VTEC. I did manage to burn a couple of "higher end" cars (A4, Boxter, RSX-s) with as it is right now. But it needs tuning, period.
I'm gonna pick up a S200 Hondata and I'll update everyone on the results.
Sweet! Thanks!
