Default Vtec help

How to check if vtec is working because it hard to hear any different in sound when the crossover is supose to happen

change your vtec fluid. then come back and provide more details like what car, what mods, etc.

Does the engine rev up to 8k RPMs? If yes then everything is working fine.

I have no screen in the vtec solenoid would that cause it not to work well, like hearing the crossover

No not at all...the screen is to keep stuff out of the chamber the oil flows through to lock the pins. IMO it is stupid to have no screen on the gasket.

Do you have any cel's...is the cel working?

The crossover is most likely there...you say the engine is stock, does that mean oem exhaust, muffler, and intake box? If yes, probably why you dont hear it.

I keep seeing this "if the engine revs to 8k its fine"... that is simply not true. There are vtec related cel's that make vtec not crossover, but the motor will still rev out, slower however.

I do hav a vtec cel code p1259 it called vtec malfuction, and I do have headers intake and exhaust
