Default vtec help

i am not sure if my vtec is engaging i cant hear it at the changeover. I have a 92 gsr and thought the crossover was at 4400. if i am wrong please correct me. i would really like to figure out if it is working or not what are some things i can do to find out if my vtec is engaging and or working properly? thanks in advance.

im not sure bout 2nd gen but in 3rd gen it is, does it not feel like a kick when VTec hits? ifso it could be ur distributor, thats wut mine was. i could still hear the difference but the my car dragged

I'm not sure bout 2nd gen's, but if it is at 4400, then it should crossover just like 3rd gen's...u won't notice it, the crossover is very smooth. Some times u can here a little klick when it comes on though.

lol. On my friends 92 gsr his vtec crossover is very loud and for sure noticeable. I think his kicked in around 5700 or so. Just floor it and listen for whenever sound changes. If you don't have a intake yet, try taking it up and down your block real quick with a open air box. Also make sure you have the right amount of oil, above the first dot. Make sure your car is fully warmed up also. BTW: Does your spedo work? If that doesn't work that can cause your vtec not to work also.

First of all what are your mods? I know on my 01 gsr when it was completly stock I could not hear the vtec crossover until i took the cover offf the factory airbox. I suggest you do what ^^^ says and I am sure you will hear it kick in.

thanks guys ya my car is stock so im guessing you wont really be able to hear it im going to try and take off my airbox and see if i can hear it then. thanks and my spedo does work
