VTEC HEAD? on LS
hey i just blew my timing belt and i bent a whole bunch of valves and what not and i was just thinking that instead of getting a whole new valve train on my B18B i would just do a vtec head instead of having them do the whole valve train so yeah let me know what ya think and if i need any additional parts or what not if i do it and how to do it k thanks.

Just as important as using the search feature if not more important is the following...
it is NOT "Vtech", it is "Vtec" <-- see no "H" so if you search for ls/vtech you'll get nothing (well you'll get something, but not what your looking for.) lol
But to answer your question, Yes what you want to do is definately doable, and it has been done countless times by many, many people on this board. As one of the previous post indicates it is called "ls/vtec" sometimes you hear "b20/vtec", or "CRV/vtec" no worries, that is nothing more than a 2.0 liter engine (engine code 'b20') from the Honda CRV with a vtec head on it as apposed to the "ls/vtec" which is a 1.8 liter non-vtec LS engine (what you have) from the Integra. b18a being the engine code for the 1990 to 1993 model year Integra's aka the "DA" and the b18b being the 1994 to 2001 model year Integra's aka the "DC" or "DC4"
FYI: In a dumbed down fashion...
DC4 = 94 to 01 any model non-vtec integra (2 door)
DC2 = 94 to 01 Integra's equiped with a vtec engine, the GSR which in my point of view its nothing more than an LS with a vtec engine, and of couse the Integra Type-R. (2 door)
The 94 to 01 four doors are the "DB" chassis code, although I don't own a 4 door, therfore im not sure of the numbers that come after it.

at least disguise the url.
and as far as it goes. yes you will need to replace a lot more parts. here are a few, timing belt (of course) water pump head studs ecu oil pump you will need an ls/vtec kit from golden eagle (or something similar) and you will neeed to do the research to make sure its done right so its dependable.

damnit u caught me. i dont know how to disguise it though. but IMO there is no need for the vtec oil pump or the golden eagle kit. i pieced together my "ls/vtec kit" on my own and spent about half the price golden eagle charges. what ur paying for with them, is convenience (its all in one package)
to the OP, if the piston hit the valves, u mught wanna get rid of the pistons to
