Default Vtec engagement

I know theres a lot of fuss and arguing about when vtec really kicks in, and "i hear it kick in at about 5200" is actually ur secondaries blah blah.

well i've got an Ls Vtec with hondata tuning, i hear the kick in at 4500, so if thats my secondaries, how could i find out when my vtec is actually engaging?

What head and Ecu you running? Vtec can kick about 4800 or so and the secondaries on a Gsr head kick in at 5750... But ONLY if your using a gsr ecu P72

its a 2k GSR head.
p72 chipped ecu.

like i said hondata tuned.
so the tuner could have adjusted it to have vtec kick in wherever he pleased.

Well if the original Gsr Intake manifold is on the butterflies usually kick in at 5750 but if he really tuned it he would tune where the 2nd tq line begins to drop then add the IAB after that. But for a Gsr ecu Vtec is at 4800 and IAB is at 5750. Vtec makes a lil opening up sound. When the IAb kicks in it makes a big differnce in sound.
