What is a good VTEC controller? Will it handle the extra fuel needed at a lower VTEC xover? How much is it? Also, what are the power gains that I might see on a 95 GSR?
I've heard that retarding the distributor will make more power, I mean making the timing mark move forward about 4 degrees. Is this true? Thanks.

advancing the timing will increase power slightly. Retarding the timing will decrease power.
VTEC controller is only good if your engine is heavy modded.
Pretty pointless to lower the VTEC engagement point, its not like VTEC is some sudden burst of power. The regular proile cam lobes produce power to a certain RPM, then te higher profile lobes continue making power through the higher RPMS.
If you have ever seen a dyno where Vtec engages too early, you can see the drop in power then it slowly rises.

Ive seen Apexi VAFC's for 300. You can probably squeeze out a few hp with i/h/e, by dynoing the car and seeing how the fuel is, and maybee play with vtec a bit. A vtec controller is really good when you have cams and more work done, its really not woth it for a basicly stock motor, but get one of you plan on doin cams etc.
