Default VIS hatch question

So I'm curently looking for a DC Integra and have a chance to snag a brand new in box VIS hatch for $250. I always thought the DC's hatches were the same but the guy selling it says it is for a 94-97. So are the hatches really year specific or will a 94-97 also fit a 98+? I really want this hatch but I don't even have a DC yet so I don't want to get it and have it not work with my car if I end up with a 98' or newer.

As far as I know, they are the exact same. I can't think of anything at all that is different.

94-97 have the manual latch, and 98-01 have push button switch, but that shouldn't affect the hatch afaik. Im not sure what you are talking about with the latch.

Strange, I went to the VIS racing site and they have 2 different hatches displayed on there. One said it was just for the 94-97 Integra hatchback (this is the one I'm looking at I guess) and then another hatch that says it's for a 94-01 Integra.

I just sent them a email so hopefully they wil get back to me and let me know what the differences are.

Just for reference, the Type-R hatches have an increased size on the gradient that goes along the hatches edges. Might not be important but it is something to look for

If you look at the part numbers they're the same for 94-97 and 98-01, lol. They separate them, but they're the same.

To the OP, don't worry about the fitment. I have a VIS hatch on my 2000 and it's fine. You can't use the handle part because the hatch doesn't provide a location for it, I just use my key to pop the hatch, which I never do anyways so.....it's not really that big a deal.

I have a shaved keyhole on my 98 so i only use the inside lever, but im running a 94-97 lever setup.
