I recently had a blown headgasket and took it to a local shop to have the entire head job done at once. This included; resurfaced head, new oem valves, 3 angle valve job, pressure wash and sand blasting, valve lash adjustment, new valve seals, and all gaskets.

After I got the car back, I noticed the valves were a bit loose and he told me to bring it back the next day to have them readjusted. When I got it back, the valves were still ticking, but not as loudly.

Another thing is, I might have a small exhaust leak somewhere either in the header from scraping it all the time, or the cat. Does an exhaust leak make a sound similar to valve tick?
