Default v-tec...?

whats up ya'll. i was wondering when is v-tec suppose to kick in. i know its a dumb question but i recenttly just put in a skunk2 intake manifold and it comes on at 4500 rpms. the manifold got rid of that stupid secoundary v-tec but it kicks in at 4500 hard but to soon. is there a way i can rig it up so that it comes on at 5700 or anything past 4500. I would get a v-tec controler or a jdm mugen ecu that bumps it to 5700 but i dont like not having a revlimiter and laggin on money. anyone got any ideas?

if you have a gsr, vtec is supposed to engage at 4400 rpms, whether you have a skunk 2 manifold or stock. you don't have a 2 stage vtec. that sound you hear at 5700 rpms is just your intake manifold switching to the shorter runners for better topend power. obviously your skunk 2 eliminates all that. if you want your vtec to engage later, get a vtec controller, but remember that your car only revs to 8 grand not 85 like the type r, therefore your power band might be too small
