Hey Guys, just found this site and after looking around for a few days decided to join. Seems that there are a number of you that might be able to help me out. I know a great deal about modding computers and improving mountain bikes but not so much about cars and tuning engines. So I figured that this would be a good place to start.

I have an '99 Integra GS and I am looking to get better performance out of it. So far I have stuck a new header and exhaust on. I was wondering what other modifications could be done.

Also what are the chances of being able to stick in a VTEC engine? I would like to get my car up over 180-190hp.

btw I did do some searching and as far as I could tell nothing really applied to improving the GS model. If I am wrong point out some links that would help me.

 

you pretty much have a Ls. a Gs was a more nicer model of the Ls. intake or a supercharger would be nice.

if you want to go vtec you can search under lsvtec or ls/vtec.

Don't swap a Vtec Motor in your car work with what you got.You should look at it like this do you want to stay all motor or go the forced induction route.Figure out how much you want to spend.Swapping in a Vtec motor is a waste of money you could do a nice turbo setup for the overall price of the swap and pull way better #'s with the Turbo setup.The #1 thing is how much your willing to spend because it never stops once it starts.Thats just my thoughts.

 

Haven't put too much thought into how much I want to spend. I am just looking at what can be done to improve the car. I likely won't be doing much to it any time soon but I like to know what is available.

I will take a look at Turbo's. What are the good companies ad make quality products?

Oh ya! I forgot I do have a Cold Air intake as well.

 

build your own turbo kit..this way you can buy more specific parts that you want , at an individual time so that you dont spend a whole chunk of money all at once and go *** broke. plus buy peicing together a kit you learn alot about your car and about boosting and what not.
