Type R Lip
I have a comptech one, i used to have a 97 ITR lip..the OEM one but i hit something in the road that fell out of a utility truck so it was replaced by the comptech one. they both look the same and both are high quality. I prefer the OEM one because of the way it mounts but thats not a big deal.

i heard that the comptech lip is supported with double-sided tape. how strong is that anyways??? its one of the reasons why i haven't bought one yet

I had the same reservations about the double-sided tape... However, after installing the lip, I was surprised by the strength of the adhesive. It isn't a gooey mess either. Rain and detergents don't seem to affect the adhesiveness of the tape. I can see how a heavy body kit might start sagging if it were attached with tape, but this piece is relatively small and lightweight.
Recently I had to remove the lip to have it repainted (small frontal collision)... and in the process I accidentally tore the strip into several smaller sections. When I went to reinstall the lip I used those same battered pieces, and surprisingly it adhered very well, and I haven't any problems... even in rainy weather.
As long as you make sure the surface is clean and you make sure the lip is aligned correctly, there shouldn't be any problems. In addition, the screws at either end prevent the ends from coming loose. The Comptech Lip is definitely worth getting... just make sure you get a good paint job on it with a lot of flex additive.
