Default Turbo Problems!! PLEASE HELP

last night me and my buddy finished putting my turbo kit on my LS.. After we were finished we went back over the entire car to re-check the work we had done to make sure of no prolems, leaks, etc.. well the time came to start the motor and let it idle for a few minutes to get the oil flowing and check for more leaks. after we found no leaks we decided to take it for a spin around the block.. well pulling out of my shop i headed down the to road, pulled out on the road, gave it a little gas in 1st, boosted just a little then put it in 2nd gear, well while in second gear i hit 5k rpm and my car just completely cut out and started stuttering.. and it does this at about 4500-5000 rpm in every gear.. could it be that we didnt put my Walbro fuel pump in yet? i have a pherable.net chipped ECU W/ OBD2 to OBD1 jumper harness....

This is what i suspect.. when i had the guy chip my ECU i set my 2 step launch control at 5k rpm... and that is when my engine cuts out.. could have accidentaly set my rev limiter at 5k?? And the base map is set up for my walro pump.. could it not e getting enough fuel??? i need as much help as i can get, as i am stumped.. Thanks

I had the same problem once I upgraded my exhaust to a full 3 inch. I think my engine wasn't getting enough fuel when the turbo spooled sooner then the stock size exhaust would allow. Once it got tuned it was fine. Definitely put that fuel pump in. That may fix it, but always tune your ride especially once boosting.

First, i would quit boosting until its tuned. Get a wideband, you are probably running lean as hell.

I forgot to mention that your spark is prbably cutting out and if oyu didn't retard your timing. TUNE IT and you should be good.
