Turbo Problem...
I have a 2 stage turbo in a 93 integra (1800 Vtec). However, the second turbo no longer works instead all I get is a weird whistling sound (not the same as when spooling - its much louder and its a horrible sound). The first turbo works fine. I noticed a bit of fluid of some description around one of the turbos and am wondering if theres m,aybe a leak somewhere or something? I dont know much about turbos so any help would be great if anyone knows what could be wrong??

maybe he means 1800 rpm is when vtec kicks in...i worked with a dude who had a type r crx and the vtec was set at 1000 so you were in vtec at all times ( thats what he said )
personally i think its redonkuluss to have vtec set at that rpm if at all possible

Re: Turbo Problem... (Keno20)
When you say the first turbo, are you talking about the compressor and the second turbo is the turbine? Or is it an actual twin turbo setup?

post pics of your "twin turbo"
no matter that it's rhd or the badge is different ( although you could do the inverse of what jdm ricers do over here and put an A badge on it)

Re: Turbo Problem... (Keno20)
If it helps, for those of you with narrow minds, just imagine that its a car that comes out in twin turbo. Forget that its an integra. Its irrelevant. Heck i'll even do the imagining for you.... lets say it's a 93' twin turbo subaru legacy.... now any helpful answers???? (and saying that im in the wrong forum is not helpful cos remember, were just using our imagination here, it is still actually an integra)

Or you just dont have a clue what could be wrong maybe? At the end of the day I'm not going to waste my time making up a story. Who gives a s$%t if I've got a twin turbo or not?! I just want some help cos I know next too nothing about them. If no one wants to help then thats fine, I will take it a mechanic. I just thought someone might be helpful and give me some hints so I could maybe do it myself. Thats what I thought this forum was all about. Apparantly I was wrong.

There is a fluid around the turbo which seems to be oil. So you think its probably just a leak? Will try get some pics up later. Cheers for the help.

Re: Turbo Problem... (Keno20)
make sure oil feed line is tight and doesnt leak anymore, then go from there, make sure all ur vacum hoses are connected right or hasnt fallen off, check the second turbos shaft for play, it shud have a lil play but if its alot of shaft play its time for a rebuild for the turbo
