Trunk Squeaking
I had my stereo turned down today and noticed there was some sqeaking noise coming from the trunk. Everytime I went over a little bump, it would squeak. I'm thinking it might be the little rubber bushings. Anyone have a good idea on how to take care of this? I have a 95 coupe, BTW.
Well, I had my friend lean back to try and pinpoint the sound, and he said it was coming from the hatch. Maybe I'll try the electrical tape. I'll let you know if it works out.
theres little rubber bushings at the back corners of the hatch....unscrew them just a little bit, and test to make sure the hatch still closes. Repeat as necessary till the hatch closes firmly. if the hatch doesn't close, you went too far....screw em back in a little bit.
That should fix it.

do you have an ITR sway bar? i have the same damn noise also. Like when you back out of your driveway...when the tires hit the ground at an angle...you get a "thulump." If not then i guess its just me. I think its my sway bar...i dunno could be the hatch?
If you have adjustable endlinks (heim joints) they may be bad. I have a rattle that seems to come from the hatch but its the endlinks rattleing. It only happens over small bumps when a few mm's of slack is taken out of the endlink (basically pushed up and down rapidly with little actual travel.
