ok i drive a 99 gs-r...sometimes the trunk doesnt wanna open i dont have the latch by the gas tank latch on the drivers side which i thought was weird because i have been in other integras and im sure i have seen it....anywho....to open the trunk i put the key in turn it and there is a latch there to pull and open it....now sometimes i would open my trunk to get something and close it back ....but say if i had to go back in there it wont open til after a couple tries...it gets frustrating and can be embarassing...anyone can suggest something?...thanks in advance

 

Common problem, just use the key.

 

ok...thats what i normally do...insert the key turn,then pull the latch and it will open...but if i close it right after i wont be able open right away....sometimes it will open after 3 tries sometime 10 or more tries...and like i said it can be frustrating as well as embarassing

Are you turning the key all the way?

My problem when i first got the car was that i was only turning the key till i heard the locking mechanism click. But you have to keep turing the key past that until the trunk pops on its own, then you just lift it up.

 

Oh, i just noticed you said you use both the latch and key at the same time. There is no need to use the latch. Just use the key by itself as i described above.
