Yup. The struts that hold up the hatch tend to go bad after 5-6 years. This is true of most Honda/Acura models.
You can buy new ones. They list for around $75 and you can get them for under $60 at Delray Acura's website. They are shown as numbers 20 and 29 on the parts diagram below. Here are the part numbers:
74820-ST7-326 STAY ASSY., R.
74870-ST7-306 STAY ASSY., L.
Or, if you can do without them for a little while, you can save a few bucks by having yours refurbished by sending them to Frank at Strutwise.

If they're new, that's okay. But I wouldn't buy any used ones; they're likely to either be worn out already, or wear out quickly...
