Default Is this true?

STOCK hp STOCK torque S/C hp S/C torque

Acura Integra-GSR 94-01 (150.6) (115.8) (208.1) (153.7)

Acura Integra-Type R 97-01(160.9) (113.0) (209.1) (144.2)

by the way this is a Jackson Racing Supercharger

*All horespower and torque numbers were measured at the wheels on a Dynojet 248E.

If this is the case I'd rather get the GS-R than the Type R? Or is there something im missing? Thanks

The Type R has high compression that is not meant to be S/C'd or turbo'd. Even the GSR has high compression but its lower then the Type R so it would react better then the R. High compression motors are not meant to be turbo'd or s/c on their stock bottom end....

gsr's seem to work pretty well with superchargers since the boost capacity for superchargers isn't that high in the first place

If you read the chart, you'll see that the Type R is only running 5 psi and the GSR is running 6 psi. That probably is why the R has less torque and about equal horsepower.

for 1/4 time...is it best to have a gsr or type r?

Is it better if I just get a Type R...make it allmotor and call it quites? Or get a GS-R and put a turbo or s/c in it and call it quites? I know its prob a dumb question but just curious about what others think Thanks!

i think a gsr could actually run 7-8 psi and still be safe, that would account for quite a bit more horsepower, you could also upgrade your pulleys as well

your only focusing speed vs. speed --you gotta remember than the handling in the type-r is crazy

So if I were to get the jrsc with the works(s/c belts, pulleys, etc.) on a gsr...that will pretty much smoke anything on the street or track right?

GSRs tend to get better gains from JRSC's. This is mainly due to how finnicky an ITR JRSC setup is. It takes experience, the right mods, and a lot of tuning to get a solid setup. But when you do, it can be just as good as a GSR and moreso.

The ITR is @ 5.5PSI with the stock kit vs the 6PSI GSR kit. And high compression + SC is awesome. Since we are boost limited, we need to make every ounce of power per PSI we can get. A common way to make power is to swap out stock cast pistons for even higher compression forged pistons.

I dont know what I was stock, but I dyno'd at 214/150 conservatively @ 6PSI.

My engine is a stock 10.6:1 JDM GSR that loved being boosted. Your comment is a bit twisted since tons of people are (and have been) boosting high comp setups. The correct statement should be: Without proper tuning and the correct fuel setup a boosted high comp engine will not last very long. MiraiZ runs a stock block FMAX boosted JDM ITR and he too has yet to report any engine problems.
