Default Troubleshooting idea needed please.

So straight to the point.
I have a 1996 Acura integra LS 4 door sedan 1.8 vtec with a yellow light and the codes below. I have since then changed,
1.spark plugs
2.wires
3.whole new distributor unit
3.compression test was all good 120 an up
4.new map sensor (fixed code)
5.cleaned throttle
6. new fuel injectors all 4
7.new fuel filter
8.oil change (might as well right)
9. will be cleaning the ecg valve tomorrow morning but then I’m lost again.
An ideas or recommendations is extremely appreciated and thank you for your time in advance.

I use to have to drive to get the codes back but the more Ive been fixing things here an there the faster they come back but at least they’re the same an not something new right. 🤣

Valve adjustment.

Was that a distributor from Honda? After market units tend to be junk.

120psi compression seems low. Was it the same value for all the cylinders?

Yes it was a after market distributor, the only noticeable difference was less vibration. 🙃

Yes all 4 were 120-125 psi

i feel like I should mention I gapped the plugs at .044 as well which a friend recommended.

valve adjustment?
Thanks for recommendation an help but could you dummy that down just a little for me.

You need to do more research! try google and type valve adjustment B series! or even search YouTube there is probably a million videos on adjusting the valve lash. It takes a few try's to get it right but its something a novice mech. or noob can do.

Your LS Integra never came with a vtec engine so i would deff look into the conversion harness/wiring to the ECU as well as the engine and look for any issues with the engine harness. I'm willing to bet you have a wiring issue somewhere.

Yeah as soon as I finished posting I did surf the internet and came across What Ryan was talking about. Initially I was talking with others before I registered here about different valves so just valve adjustment threw me off until I just put in valve adjustment. 🙃

I just ordered everything I need to be able to do the adjustment as well.

I cleaned the ECG valve this morning but same ole same ole. My next step will be the valve adjustment as soon as everything comes in.

not sure about the wiring but I’m going to start looking that up as well.

When I first bought the car 5 years ago it was running great. No issues whatsoever but no love given to it as well. It was my first car I ever bought and owned until it recently started with the problems mentioned. I’ve turned a new page in my life so I started stepping up an I’m trying to take care of a car that took care of me. Thank you guys for the recommendations and assistance. 👍

Before doing the valve adjustment with the valve cover off and spark plugs removed, rotate the engine by hand / 19mm ratchet CCW and confirm the mechanical timing has not moved or basically the timing belt diddnt skip a tooth or two on the cam gears, if the cams line up at TDC as well as the crank proceed to check the valve lash and adjust. You might have tight valves or even worse timing skipped. After you do everything double check the ignition timing with a simple timing light gun.

Yea I found I really good video for the valve adjustment online so I understood all the abbreviations perfectly. 👍
lm gonna look into the timing light gun as well. That seems like something I’m going to need regardless in the future anyways. Thanks for the info.

yeah I missed that last step I’m guessing that’s what caused this.
update to the last I did was the valve adjustment. I had to adjust all of them in the long run. 🤦‍♂️ I did however get rid of the engine light for awhile and the car was running really really good for about an hour an 30 straight but then as I was test driving and picking up my son from school I felt a very faint and small jolt like I missed the gas clutch combo, then the engine light came on with this…

I was only blocks away but I could automatically feel something and my car felt like it was dying. I felt sad inside driving it home. Is that strange? 🤔
