Default Trip meter, what the hell is the problem with this thing?

about 50% (almost 100% when it's cold out) when i hit the reset button on the trip meter... it resets to either 90 or between 0-9... heres a pic:

and a link if it dosent show up

now, as you can see i've already got the black bezel off... but i dont want to screw up the needles... so what do i do next to figure out what the problem is?

it's like, the colder it gets the worse the trip meter gets. when i tried to reset it the other day, it wouldnt move at all... after about 5 minutes of NON-STOP pushing of the button, it finally moved... but went right back to the location between the 0 and 9

Thanks all!

Neither pic nor link works.

I have never had a problem resetting my trip meter, but it also never goes to exactly 0 with just one push. When I fill up at the gas station I always push it several times to get back to 000.0

I remember one time my trip meter would get stuck at 45 miles. No matter how many times I rested it, it would always just get stuck at 45. A couple months later the problem fixed itself.

i can press the reset button all day long and it still wont reset correctly, sometimes the 0-9 is in the Tens or miles and not in the signel miles...
i even drive for a few miles and try it again to see if that fixes it. nope, does the same thing

I had this same issue w/ my '94 Integra RS that I purchased two months ago. Last night, for the first time, the trip meter would not reset to 000.0. It got stuck at 090.0 and wouldn't reset after pressing reset incessantly and popping/flicking it as was suggested in another forum to no avail. So I just removed the cluster from the dash (which I just kinda figured out myself on the fly right there, and turns out it's very easy to remove in an integra, but not the case in many cars) then removed the clear, plastic front cover to access the trip meter digits and with a bobby pin manually shifted the 9 back to 0. While I had it open, I also shifted the odometer to the appropriate mileage for my car since I bought it used, and the previous owner replaced the cluster but didn't care to adjust the odometer to the correct mileage or plug in the srs to the back of the cluster (which I did and now have a working srs dash light and srs; i disconnected the battery terminals for about 10 minutes before I plugged in the srs plug into the cluster so the srs wouldn't blow). Plus, I made sure each icon had a bulb in the cluster so I killed 4 birds w/ one stone from this issue. Hopefully, the trip meter issue is resolved b/c I really don't want to pull the cluster out to manually reset every time I need to reset the trip meter.
