Default trany problems part 2

What I meant was when the trans shifts from second going to third it seems to go into neutral, the rpms go way up and then it shifts into third. Someone said that I should change the fluid. Is there a filter for the trany? If so, where?

Geeee, thats a vague term. No kidding. Here is the deal, there are fluid passages and clutchpack-type discs even in an auto tranny. These discs transfer energy. Not a tranny pro and havnt studied it yet but it should be taken to or at least go by a shop that specializes in transmission work.

You can go to a normal shop yes, however, tranny work is the most specialized and some of the most technical stuff there is. The tools for doing automatic transmission work are very costly and you can best believe those that have them...know what they are doing for sure. Its at least worth your time to have someone talk to you and weigh the options out for you.

Im not gonna say just go ahead and replace it cause that may not be necessary. Might be something minor that a professional could repair. Check it out

make sure you're checking the fluid when the car is at operating temp. and running...it should be a pink color, if it is any other color, it either needs to be changed or something is worn out and breaking down the fluid which would change it a different color....
