Default Transmission problem

i have a 95 integra gsr with 170k
The problem is that i am having problems on and off taking my car out of gear and sometimes putting it back in gear. for example i was on the freeway going about 60mph and tried to put it into neutral and it felt it was sticking to 5th gear. once in neutral i couldn't put it into 3rd 4th or 5th gear untill the car slowed down to about 40mph then it finally went into a gear. when idling it goes in all the gears perfectly fine with no unusual noises. i am assuming it might be something simple as a transmission fluid change (not sure when the last owner changed it so i am thinking im due for one) but i have been told by others that it might be the clutch as well, and i need to buy a clutch set and replace the pressure plate, bearings, and clutch. i will be changing my transmission fluid tonight but wanted to know if any of you Honda-tech gurus had an suggestions/advice....thanks!

Try bleeding the clutch. May have some air in the line and not letting it release all the way

First Thing i recommend is checking the fluid out, and seeing what color it is and if you have any gold flakes. Change it and see how it is, bleed it too, Change the Clutch and PP and if you still have that problem it could by your syncro's or something else internally. Good Luck.

Similiar problem and people told me it might be my syncros... changed the fluid.. bleeded and problem solved? This was on Ls b18b1 98

Probably could use a clutch. Easy way to check is to take off in 2nd gear from a stop and see if you can feel the clutch slip.

The alternative and more fun way would be to take it up to 7000 or 7500rpm in 2nd and see if it refuses to go into third when you try to shift.

I would guess Clutch... Mine was acting similar. It doesn't necessarily have to be slipping to be bad. Fluid change, bleed the clutch would be two good places to start though.

If Changing the fluid and bleeding it solves the problem than it was noting internally. However if it dosent than you do have a problem internally. As for the Syncro's, To tell if there going bad, when you shift if it pops out of gear than your syncro spring or syncro is done. If its your clutch the car will not go into gear when it is on, but while it is off it will go into any gear. A quick fix to this would be GM Syncromesh MTF. It will fix it for a while but no for long. Id recommended getting a new trans at this point or a rebuild.
