Default Transmission code help!

Newer guy here. I have an LS/Vtec build done by a previous owner and the engine has now blown. I have a b18a1 bottom and GSR head, I have no idea what tranny the previous owner used on the car. I am looking into buying a JDM B18C without a transmission, im wondering if anyone knows WHERE the tranny code is! cant seem to find it. ALSO does anyone know if it WAS b18a1 tranny can I use it on the b18C, dont give me the shittyness of a non vtec tranny vs an LSD just give me the fact, can I yes or no use a B18A1 Tranny on a B18C, any input will be greatly appreciated! thanks

Shouldn't it be right in the front? For example say youre in front of the car looking into the bay, you look down and it should be there. unless it was scratched off?

Yes it should be there does it look to be scratched off? Is your tranny a cable or hydro?

Idk but look here https://honda-tech.com/forums/general-discussion-debate-40/differences-between-cable-hydraulic-transmissions-1500081/
A cable actually uses a cable thats connected to the tranny from the clutch. I read from the thread that avhydro uses hydraulic lines or something like that

yes you can use a ls tranny on a gsr or 1.8 l b series vtec motor, they even make hydro to cable conversions. The pic below is correct but some older years didnt come with a vin but a sticker which over time can come off. you will know you have a hydro if theres a black boot next to the slave cylider on the tranny. the cable will have a cable literally. im sure theres another way to confirm what tranny you have try posting pics of any markings.
