Any b series Cable bellhousing will work, but your better off buying a new transmission for it.

From what I know this is incorrect. The YS1 is identical to the hydraulic cases and the internals are all swappable. You CAN NOT use the case from a J1,Y1,S1 because although they are all cable actuated the internals are TOTALLY different from the YS1 which is also cable but interchangable with the newer hydraulic cases and gears.

With that said you can use any LS,b16 or b17 case as long as it says YS1 or you can use any hydraulic case so long as you have a cable to hydraulic conversion kit. Good luck.

A YS1 which is what I have.

Is the same bellhousing as a S1, Y1, J1 Cable.

So the cable trannies have their own bell housing.

Why do a Cable to Hydro Conversion when the Bellhousing will fit from a Cable..egh.

idk if you read properly but yeah the housing is the same but the INTERNALS ARE NOT. there for you CANNOT interchange them. ONLY YS1 and any other b-series hydro will work. you need cable to hydro conversion to use the hydro ones
