Hey,
just did a gsr tranny swap on my ls teg, I started the car to test out the new trans and when the car starts a grinding noise occurs when trying to put the car into gear ( i'm assuming it to be a blown tranny.) The drive axle (pass. side) keeps rotating and all but the weird thing which i'm not sure if this maybe an exact tip off to whats wrong but when the clutch is disengaged and put into gear the speedometer starts increasing as if it's going somewhere...
so H-t what's the verdict? blown tranny? possible axle problems? anything else you can think of let me know, definitely open to suggestions!!!
thanks in advance!

Is there any noise once the car is in gear? With the speedometer indicating speed when in gear, the differential must be spinning and you have a loose axle or blown differential.

turned out to be the outer boot of the pass. halfshaft was broken, replaced the axle and voila!
now i'm rolling
