There's the info you are looking for, but be warned, it's tough to find out what car b-series trannies came out of because their codes are the same (s80 or y80), even if it comes out of an ITR, GSR, or LS. If it has the VIN on it, like newer integras, you could tell, but if not, you have to either count teeth or take someone's word for it.

ok well i know that this tranny's speed sensor is held in place by one 10mm bolt and has a three pronged plug if that helps( similar to a 99-00 si), i think the gsr has 2 bolts that holds it in
s80 refers to it being a manual transmission and actually refers to the case. the serial number is just that, serial. i did find that a 2001 gsr has 2 10mm bolts holding the vss down, it is a 3p connector. its the same on a 96 gsr. on a 2000 EM1 its has one bolt. the 2000 LS is the same as a gsr, 2 bolts. the 2001 ITR is a two bolt w/ 3p connector. the 99 si also has the 1 10mm bolt. a 97 del sol si vtec has 2 bolts.
so the only way i can figure out if its what the person says it is, either take their word for it or take it apart and start countin teeth. unless you can grab the vin from the car it came from. this is quite possible if you take the serial number of the tranny to a dealership and see what car it came from. you can also check if its a legal tranny (not stolen). thats what i'd say to the dealership, "i want to know if this transmission is stolen" then give them the serial and ask what kinda car it came from.

i know for a fact that this tranny has 1 bolt holding on the vss, and the sticker with the number is fallen off and it looks as iff the tranny was polished at some point, its bolted up to a 94 gsr block, i know its not a 99-00 si tranny because the gear on the bottom of the speed sensor is smaler on the si than this tranny, maybee its an older b16 tranny, is there any other way to tell without counting teath? maybee a stamp in the casting some where?
does a 99 si and 00 si take the same vss?
does a 99 si and 00 si take the same vss?
2000 si vss part number = 78410S04911 (denso)
1999 si vss part number = 78410S04911 (denso)
same part.
i posted before about the delsol si vtec having a 2 bolt vss, its part number is 78410SR3004 (NS). ofcourse its different. maybe the trans is a jdm trans. i can't get info on jdm stuff, only USDM stuff.
