TPS sensor bad?

TPS sensor bad?
ok when i turn the car on, it barely stays on, sometimes turns off, but sometimes the check engine light will turn on and the car will run fine.
ok when i turn on the car and its barely staying on if i disconnect the TPS it will keep doing what its doing, but i disconnect that sensor in the back of the manifold the car will turn off...
any help?
