whenever im stopped and the floor it into a corner when i shift to second the car jerks, is this normal? i do only have one hand on the wheel at the time. is this torque steer or what?

torque steer is when you step on it or launch and your car pulls to one side

 

Torque steer, simply put is torque steering the car. This usually happens when you accelerate the torque begins to pull the wheel which causes you to turn in a direction (ie left). You say it happens when you go into a corner, does it happen only in second? What do you mean by it jerking?

 

Sounds like rough engagement.
Torque steer would jerk you toward the left or right.
