Tools needed to install koni shocks
Guys, today I'm getting in my front koni yellows.I'm going to attept to change them myself, when my race springs were installed my friend didnt need to compress the springs because they fit right in with just needing to give a slight push on the spring.Do you guys think it will be the same? And what size sockets are needed?Does anyone have any directions pics?I hate to ask stupid questions but I dont work on cars other than your average spark plug changes and oil changes.

its pretty easy i just did mine the other week for the first time... just watch out for seized bolts... use pb blaster or liquid wrech or something of the sort... u willl need a 14mm socket and a 17mm socket and wrench... and an allen wrench to take the strut off the shock(not sure what size)... its pretty easy though just spray the bolts with some pb blaster or something and u'll be alright
Well I used a spring compressor when I installed my Koni's but I was putting them in w/ ITR springs. I guess it depends on what kind of springs you have...but you can borrow them from autozone for a refundable deposit of 40$. Here are two suspension install articles to help you out.

I got to get back to work.. so no time to write out a detailed response.. but if you have a mechanics tool set w/ sockets and ratchets (I think its like 14 or 17mm I forget), breaker bar, and spring compresor (assuming your taking out stock springs to put in the koni's and some aftermarket springs) .. and some hex keys.. you should have all you need...
anyway sorry I don't have time right now... I got to get back to work so I'll just link you some links.. bleh need a longer lunch break heh...

the top jam nuts on the Koni shocks are 19mm I believe, so make sure you have one of those sockets. You should have one for removing lug nuts anyway.
Oh, make sure it's a 19mm DEEP socket, or use a wrench. A regular socket is not deep enough and could possibly damage the adjusting tab.

I just dont know what the hex keys would be used for?

If you didn't need a spring compressor before, you won't need one now.
If you plan on keeping the dust cover, you'll need a drill or something to enlarge the diameter of the hole, as the konis have a larger shaft than stock. (you have Tokico's now? not sure what diameter on those is like)
You'll also need a 12mm socket for the bolts that hold the abs line in place.
