Titanium or not ?? Retainer Question.
I get a gsr head, the guy tell me that have Crower Titanium retainers and race springs.
The retainers are not magnetic, so i guess that they are titanium, but dont have any signs of CROWER.
May be somebody know wich brand they are.
thanks.

better question is how many miles are on them. they look like ti but ti retainers have a shelf life. when used most of us switch them out at 30-40k miles. if the mileage is unknown i wouldn't use them in a build
The guy says that was mounted in a race car, so i guess that they have low miles.
Race cars go through more high revs and stress than a street cars. I wouldnt use them at all.
And like Idrivesideways said, they do only have a shelf life of 30-40k miles. They dont last as long as, lets say, ITR retainers. They do wear out pretty easy, and for that reason alone, I would buy some new ones.

Not crower or supertech. Super tech has a different lip and design on the top. Crower is always etched into the top of the retainer. Nothing wrong with TI retainers at all. Only thing is they need to be checked often for wear. If your looking for something to build and never touch again, dont use them. If your looking to go all out and see the most out of your build, TI retainers are a nice valvetrain upgrade.
Oh, I think rocket motorsports maybe?
