Tire Selection Question
I know there are a couple of other threads about tires going around right now but I would like some input.
So, I finally got to take my DB8 to the track last night and it was horrible. My GSR has Fidanza 7.5lb flywheel with OEM Exedy disc and ACT HD PP, DC 4-1 header, with ES motor inserts in all 5 mounts and ES shifter bushings. The best I got all night in the 1/8th mile was a slow 10.66(was consistently hitting 10.7's). I mean even my B20 DA when it only had 90psi in one cylinder still ran a 11.08 best with basically same mods. Right now I am on the stock Fat Fives with BFG Touring 205/55 tires up front. One of the big problems I had was it either spinning or bogging down around 3-4k rpms which would suck because it felt like forever until 5800 when it started pulling. So I'm considering puchasing an extra pair of rims and tires for the track.
First, I want to get a pair of Si stocks for track use(I know not really a race rim). Then I will need tires, first question about the tires is would it be more productive to put 205/50 for that smaller diameter? Second is, would a drag radial like the BFG or Nitto be too extreme for my very mild almost stock setup(I have a AFC Neo being shipped to me now, although I don't think that will make a huge difference, and will be getting a Skunk2 IM within a couple of weeks). Or should I consider something more like the Dunlop Direzza or BFG g-Force Sport. The Azenis RT-615 I know I have heard are good for Auto-X, but I don't remember about drag use. I'm just looking for something a little better so I can launch higher without just spinning so I can get more at the spot where it finally starts picking up good.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. I was very dissappointed at my results, one last thing, do you think the bad time might be also caused by my engine needing a tune-up maybe or could it just be cause I have a pig of a 4 door?

First of all, 205/55-15 is too big for an Integra. The larger outer diameter of that size can slow your acceleration; it's like putting taller gears in your car. Stick with 195/55-15 or 205/50-15.
Now, since you're talking about getting two extra rims that you're going to use specifically for the dragstrip, why not get the tires that are made for the dragstrip? IOW, get the drag radials. Yes, you can use the Azenis RT-615 too, but the Azenis is made more for track use, where you need to worry about cornering, not for the dragstrip. Not that it would be bad at the strip, but the drag radials are better there. Drag radials are also designed to allow the sidewall to deform so you can lower the pressures for larger contact patches at the strip.
And for heaven's sake, don't just get the Direzza DZ101 or BFG g-Force Sport for the dragstrip. These are just plain old everyday summer tires, not even the best ones around. If you want something for the street, then get some Kumho SPT (better than the DZ101 or g-Force Sport for about the same money). But again, the whole idea of getting the extra two rims means that it enables you to get drag radials that will do well at the dragstrip, rather than just your daily driving type tires.
As for your results, I have no idea what's considered normal for your car, considering its power and weight. And if it is due for scheduled maintenance, then yes, do it. It's possible the results are due to any of those things, and it's also possible that you're new to drag racing and just aren't yet as quick as those with more experience.
Don't forget that honda-tech.com has a drag racing forum where you can get advice for the drag strip.
Good luck.

I run 205/50-15 Falken Ziex 512s as my street tires, but those aren't on my car very often...my BFG drag radials are 225/50-15 and i love them to death
My next street tire is going to be a set of 2 Falken RT615s in the 205/50-15
