Tips for windshield repair?
So i have this little bullseye on the windshield of my GS-R. I've tried to use one of those DIY Permatex kits you can buy at Kragen for like 10 bucks. Now, i've tried to use these kits twice(once on my old CRX and now this afternoon) and they just don't seem to work. I followed the instructions to a tee, pumped out the air bubbles 10 times or whatever, etc..
The instructions say to let it cure for 30 minutes(1 hr on a cloudy day). I've let the damn stuff cure for 2 hours on a sunny cloudless day in California and still the stuff won't set. Both times, it's as liquid as when i set it up.
The instructions clearly show it hardening(they even include a little razor to cut off the excess from the windshield)
I'm not quite sure what the heck i'm doing wrong. Do i need to let it set longer or something? I mean i let it set 4 times longer than the instructions. Maybe let it sit all day?
thanks for your time,
-J

i never used a diy kit, but i did have someone from an autoglass come over and fix a crack in my windshield from a stone.
they drill the hole a bit, suck out any debris. inject the resin. they put a uv type light on it to let it bake or harden, and then 10 mins later she was scraping the excess away with a razor, and my window was repaired.
it now looks like a dried up water spot, but you cant see the annoying eye sore crack.
it cost about 50 bucks.

yup, i was at the window shop to have some stuff on and was curious about window chips. the guy said he can do it for like 35 bucks a chip. they can also repair cracks if they dont exceed 5 inches or so...
