Timing help, please.
Ok I have a 94 Acura Integra LS. I just had my timing belt changed. Then I went and bought a timing gun to adjust my timing at the distributor. So I set the time gun up used the jumper wire, got the car running at operating temp. then I went to set the timing, now what I am looking at is with the distributor advanced as far as it will go I am setting at about 2 degrees ATDC. Can someone please help me out and let me know what I need to do? Thanks ahead of time.
you point the gun down to your crank pulley and you should see differnt color timing marks. adjust dizzy until you are satisfied with your timing marks on your pulley.
The Honda crank pulley will probably have 1 white mark that represents TDC. It will also have 3 red marks that represent 14, 16, and 18 degrees before TDC. To time the ignition, put your timing gun on the cyl 1 spark plug wire, set the timing dial to 0, and make the middle red mark (16 deg advance) line up with the mark on the timing belt cover. Remember to use the jumper wire (i see you already had that part done though).
