Default timing

Hey guys I haven't touched a Honda for a few years, but the timing on my friends b18b is off by at least 1-2 teeth. The block is set tdc right now. Should I remove the cam covers and align them? Also if that's the case would I need to do a valve adjustment again or is that only if I remove the cams off the rockers?

Also in case anyone is curious to know, I owned a few Hondas before. I left the scene due to heart breaking thieves.

How else would you align the cams if u dont remove valve and timing belt covers??? Ask yourself that question...yes u would have to readjust valves after u fix timing

remove valve cover>loosen t-belt> set block at TDC >align cams to TDC>set timing belt>tighten belt.

i didnt ask anything about valve and timing belt covers i asked about the cam cap covers if they need to be removed to align the timing & if so would i need to do a valve adjustment after. We found out his timing is off when he decided to replace his tensioner and belt. I took everything apart for him. it's just a question I haven't been around Honda engines for quite a few years I'm a bit use to 32v dohc ford engines at the moment and thanks for your useless answer.
