Default Timing

What should a stock gsr's timing be set too? Will i have to take off my timing belt cover to adjust the timing? Also how do i use the timing gun i know i have to hook it to cylinder 1 wire and the battery then point it to the timing belt but what do i look for? Any info will help thanks...

just leave it at 16 degrees...and what do you mean adjust it? is it loose or something? the timing gun will show you where your tdc mark is and your three marks for 14 degrees 16 degrees or 18....i say just leave it at stock 16 degrees
