you dont need to drop the whole engine... take out the motor mount on the tranny... and theres about 7-8 bolts..

take off the wheel
disconnect brake caliper
turn rotor assembly
pop out axle
disconnect trans mounts
take off about....i dunno 16 tranny case bolts
disconnect reverse switch
do what you want with the starter, i replaced that at the same time as my clutch/pp/flywheel
trans should drop out easily and fluid will go everywhere
take off PP bolts and clutch is right behind it, then the flywheel.
re-assemble.

fluid go everywhere??? umm have you ever removed a transmission dude?? The spline that connects the engine to the bell housing has no fluid in it...The fluid is contained INSIDE the tranny case with the gears themselves, not with the spline..The only thing between the engine and spline is some like assembly lube...And removing the brake calipers is completely UNECCESSARY...

Its not that hard. Make sure you have a helms, all the right tools (if you have access to an impact wrench then it will make it all the easier), and a friend to help lower and put back the tranny. Also, make sure to torque everything bck to spec.

I agree with lVlemphizStylez, a few of the steps you mentioned aren't necessary and fluid will not spill everywhere if you drain the tranny.

Alsp, don't forget to get new crush washers for the drain plug.

the only place where you may have fluid coming out from, is the axel holes. However, the gear should of been drained Prior to removal...work clean, and you'll work happier

the reason fluid went everywhere is b/c it was my first time doing it and i haven't done it since....it was during an AT-MT conversion, so I did take the AT trans off, and yeah...fluid, a lot of fluid.

I have the Clutchmasters Stg 1 Clutch and PP, as well as the Clutchmasters Aluminum 8 lb Flywheel...it's a nice combo.

Clutch and PP-$450
Flywheel-$240

Even in an auto tranny, there is no fluid in the input shaft. likewise, the only way that would would have fluid spilling everywhere in an AT is out of the axel seals, drain plug, or if you droped the torque converter like a dumbass.

I'm using an Exedy Stage 1 clutch kit and 9 lbs flywheel running 5 psi. Holding up really good and feels like stock clutch.
